The 9th Poverty and Social Protection Conference (PSPC2016), held from 9–11 March 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand at the AETAS Lumpini Hotel, brought together a diverse international community of scholars, practitioners, policymakers and development leaders to examine emerging challenges and evolving opportunities in poverty reduction and social protection systems.
Over three days of presentations, panel discussions, case studies and networking sessions, participants exchanged insights on how social protection frameworks can adapt to rapidly changing global realities — from labour market shifts to governance challenges, from grassroots innovation to evidence-based policy design. PSPC2016 continued the series’ focus on high-quality research, inclusive dialogue and global professional connections.
